Lazydays Festival launches The Lazydays Foundation to support Southend communities
As a local, independent festival, Lazydays has always been about more than just music. Today, we’re proud to take the next step by launching The Lazydays Foundation - our new charitable arm dedicated to supporting community initiatives right here in Southend.
The Foundation has been created to collect donations from the Lazydays community and direct them towards projects that make a real, lasting difference locally.
“We have a long history of witnessing the transformative work of local charities that do so much for Southend, and we wanted to give something back.”
Why the Lazydays Foundation matters
Music plays a powerful role in young people’s lives. It supports creativity, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and connection. It brings people together and creates moments that stay with you forever.
That belief sits at the heart of Lazydays Festival, and it’s why music-led community impact is the Foundation’s first priority.
Our first charity partner: YMCA Southend
For its first year, the Lazydays Foundation has nominated YMCA Southend as its official charity partner.
YMCA Southend works with young people across the city, supporting them through safe spaces, creative programmes and opportunities to explore music as a tool for expression and development. By partnering with YMCA Southend, Lazydays is helping extend the positive impact of the festival far beyond one summer weekend.
Built by the community, for the community
Lazydays was founded by three friends from Southend and remains proudly independent. The Foundation reflects that same spirit - rooted locally, driven by people, and focused on making Southend an even better place to live, create and celebrate.
As Lazydays Festival continues to grow, so too will the Foundation’s ability to support meaningful local projects. This is just the beginning.
